PAPER PUZZLE BOXES & FAIRY ORNAMENTS

Creating shapes and patterns with paper and experimenting with texture, color and the elements of nature has been a life-long adventure. My early explorations cutting paper garlands and drawing flowers evolved into designing and creating three-dimensional treasure boxes that fit together like a puzzle to form elegant patterns.

Iā€™m inspired by nature and influenced by the centuries-old art of paper cutting. My hand-cut paper art is a combination of a playful creativity joined with the more utilitarian process of container construction. The boxes have intricate designs and are functional and fun gift containers as well as decorative art.

I also make little fairies and angels by hand from wire, clay, paint, paper, wood beads, artificial flowers and yarn.  Each one is different and has its own personality. They look great hanging from an indoor plant, a Christmas tree or on a wrapped gift. The legs and arms are bendable so you can pose each fairy and make them dance or fly from the clear filament string.

I love being a part of TEAL and have been with the gallery for 27 years.
